Summer Adventure Program 2008 Themes
Each week children will enjoy arts and crafts, story time, songs, creative movement, games and outdoor play related to the specific theme of the week. Offered again this year is the option of 3 or 5 day sessions. Children will also participate in outside water play 2-3 times a week. Sessions are 9:15 - noon daily.

June 30 - July 3: VISIT TO THE ZOO
Have you ever been to a zoo aquarium? Or maybe your favorite wildlife is in your own backyard. We will transform our play area into our own nature reserve!
July 7 - July 11: CELEBRATE THE SEA
Ahoy there mate! Your child will explore the undersea world and learn about the creatures that live in water. Maybe they will meet an imaginary pirate or mermaid when we go beyond the sand and tidal pool and out into the ocean!
July14 - July 18: AROUND THE WORLD
Children will celebrate cultures of China, Kenya, Brazil, Mexico and the United States through traditional festivals, foods, art and games.
July 21 - July 25: WHEN I GET BIG
I am big and getting bigger. When I grow up I want to be a fireman or an artist. We will explore the world of careers with visits and role playing as our interests and activities teach us about the exciting opportunities in the grown up world.
July 28 - August 1: BUDDING SCIENTISTS
So many questions... how do things work, and why come from our young scientists. We will awaken an interest in science through fun and experimentation. one home!
August 4 - August 8: SUMMER OLYMPICS
New York will host the Olympics, only right here in South Salem! Our activities will include opening and closing ceremonies as well as fun activities and games.
August 11 - August 15: OUT OF THIS WORLD SPACE ADVENTURE
We start our voyage on earth and transform ourselves into astronauts for our journey to outer space.
