As we share the journey, it is our desire to embrace others with the certain knowledge of God’s abundant and overflowing love for everyone. We do this through fellowship, hospitality, pastoral care, and prayer requests.
“May the peace of the Christ be with you.”
“And also with you.”
Christ commanded that we love one another. This part of our journey together encompasses our response through fellowship, hospitality, pastoral care, congregational care and mission outreach.
“Sharing the Peace of Christ” is an essential part of our worship service. It reflects the way we should treat one another every day of the week. The “Peace of Christ” immediately follows our declaration of forgiveness in Sunday worship. Therefore, as people reconciled to God we are reconciled to one another in mutual love and respect. The love and respect is extended to everyone, including those who happen to be with us for the first time. God’s love and peace are boundless.
Fellowship gatherings are an extension of our weekly communion where we continue to extend Christ’s hospitality as we come together, getting to know new people and sharing the love of God. We gather after worship for refreshments, catching up, and listening for ways to extend our care and concerns.
The church holds a variety of social activities:
Sanctuary Series is an offering to everyone regardless of faith affiliation or lack thereof. The Sanctuary Series brings world class musicians into our sanctuary in this small hamlet where you can hear the same concerts being performed at Lincoln Center, the Met, and all around the world. We have wine and cheese receptions following these fabulous concerts.
Our Chili Cook Off is held the first week in November This event brings the whole town and surrounding area into our church facility for great food, friendly competition, tons of swag for those who enter and most of all a sense of community and love that only food and great hospitality can bring! You don’t want to miss this event!
Memorial Day Fair and Races is our longest and largest event we hold for the town and surrounding area. The races begin in the morning and the fair starts at 10am. There are games for kids, music, items for sale, vendors, food, and an atmosphere of Americana that brings images of Norman Rockwell to mind. Make plans to attend each year!
