Christopher’s Eagle service project fulfilled the need of our town of Lewisboro for a connecting trail within its Leon Levy Nature Preserve.
Before beginning Christopher passed through an extensive town approval process, and so gained an early glimpse into the functioning of town political systems.
Beginning at age 16, he spent over six months presenting before seven town bodies, some several times, and met the requirements of each as they surfaced. Chris designed the trail, managed the scouts’ cutting and blazing, and created its GPS file for county mapping. The finished trail enables hikers to penetrate deeper within the bounty of the preserve’s natural beauty, discovering its historical stone foundations, rock walls and carriage trails along the way.
