Christian Education – The purpose of this committee is to strengthen the life of the congregation by providing opportunities for nurture and growth in the knowledge, belief and behaviors of the Christian in the world today. Responsibilities include: coordinating the educational ministries of the church for Sundays. oversight for the Nursery School, development and maintenance of the church library, provide training and enlist leadership for educational programming.  Explore The Word

Mission & Outreach – The purpose of this committee is to respond to the love of Jesus for all people by realizing that God is at work in the community and to seek to guide the congregation into avenues of service. Responsibilities include: maintaining constant concern for the needs of the local community, coordinate community services available through SSPC and enlist the congregation for volunteer support.  Live the Vision

Congregational Care – The purpose of this committee is to provide meaningful care, nurture, and support services of a pastoral nature to members of the congregation. Responsibilities include: identify and respond to needs of members and member constituency groups, such as Senior, homebound, ill, bereaved, and military; to support the pastoral work of the minister in such areas as prayer, visitation, and care and support of members; to increase awareness of the congregation as a whole to the contributions and needs of its senior members.

Congregational Life – The purpose of this committee is to develop camaraderie and interaction among the congregation, continue community outreach, and constantly search for ways to develop the congregation into a homogenous force for fellowship, community, and Christ. Responsibilities include coordination of special fellowship programs.  Embrace others in Love

Membership – The purpose of this committee is to actively recruit new members, orient new members and to assimilate them into the life of the congregation. Responsibilities include monthly meetings to address membership needs and hear reports from committee members, contact and follow-up with prospective new members, tracking new member involvement, and hosting new member events that provide for integration with the congregation.

Worship and Music – The purpose of this committee is to oversee and promote the worshipping life of the congregation, working with the Senior Pastor and Director of Music, and to promote the expanded music ministry of the church. Responsibilities include planning and provision for special observance during the church year, such as Advent, Lent and Pentecost; maintaining and coordinating worship needs and events for the congregation and leadership, such that the worship services are within the bounds of the Book of Order and offer a worshipful experience for the congregation.

Opportunities in Worship –  Our ushers are a very important part of the worship experience. They greet visitors and members alike, and ensure all their needs are met before, during and after the service. Let us know if you would like to be part of this very important ministry.

In the Choir – The Music Ministry is a critical part of our worship life. If you would like to be a part of our Chancel Choir, or have some musical gifts to offer, please contact Director of Music  Join a Choir

Communication & Systems – The church newsletter, Noah’s Dove is a monthly publication that shares news and events with members, visitors and new residents.  A Weekly Email Blast gives a quick Heads Up to events and activities.  The Church Website is a content driven resource that is designed to be current and relevant with electronic feeds to helpful resources and articles. The Church Software is ACS and provides a member database, activity tracking and financials.  A Member Portal is available via the website and members can request a login from the System Admin.

In the Classroom – Christian Education is a key part of life at SSPC.  We are dedicated to providing children and adults alike with education and support as we all journey through life in faith. If you have gifts of teaching, shepherding, leading or just love to be with kids contact our CE Director.
