Kick off your Memorial Day celebration with a healthy run! Be sure to bring along your entire family – events are offered for all ages! From a 10K that takes on some of the most challenging hills in South Salem to the 50 yard plus dashes for our Pee Wee toddlers.
Five Events are offered on Memorial Day
The 10K and 5K courses are U.S.A. Track and Field certified which allows the running times to be accepted as a record and nationally ranked.
10K – Starts at 8:00 a.m. Awards to the overall M/F winners. First, second and third to the top M/F in the falling categories: Under 14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
5K – Starts at 9:30 a.m. Upon local demand we have opened up the 5K to stroller families. Keeping safety in mind, runners with strollers start at the back of the line. Awards to the overall M/F winners. First, Second and Third place to the top M/F in the falling categories: Under 11, 12-14, 15 -19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Challenge Run For those that are up for the 10K at 8:00 a.m., you can also run the 5K at 9:30 a.m. for ½ off the registration price. Your time for each separate race will be posted race day and we will also combine your 5K and 10K race times for your “Challenge” time. Awards will be presented for the top three male and top three female winners of this Race
Mile Fun Run – Youth can find out if they can run a mile and how fast. Top girl and boy in thisrace will be awarded a gift certificate to a local snack establishment and all participants receive a festive ribbon and t-shirt. Start time 10:45 a.m.
Pee Wee Races –The ever popular Pee Wee races are offered for two to eight year olds to run 25 to 50 yard dashes. Everyone is awarded with a t-shirt and ribbon for their efforts. Start time 11:00.
Health Walk – led by local avid walkers walk a healthy pace around scenic Lake Trusdale. Meet at the Town Hall steps and leave at 9:45.
All events are held rain or shine.
